The first few days in your new house can be over whelming since you will be looking at unopened boxes and a lot of mess. However it is perfectly normal to feel that way. Also it is highly impractical to assume that you can set your new house and unopen all the boxes in one day.The only exception is if you have few belongings. Don’t feel over whelmed about the work ahead but rather you can organize your new house little by little everyday. There are few helpful tips:
* Most of the utilities in your new house should be up and running but your internet ,phone, cable and satellite may take some days to be connected. You can make the most out of these days by unpacking your belongings. Once your utilities are all connected ,you will have much less time to unpack then.
* Place boxes in or near the room that you intend to unpack. It may seem like a mess but the things that will go in that particular room will be at one place and it will be easier for you to place them in that room once you start unpacking the boxes.
* It is perfectly acceptable not to unpack in the first few days since if you have moved to a new town, you might want to explore and get familiar with public transport, eating places, local facilities in the area. You’ll need to go out and get at least the basics for those few days till you unpack your kitchen.
